The BETA-2 score gives an estimate of islet graft function following islet transplantation in people with Type 1 diabetes. It is a refinement of the Beta Score published in Diabetes Care.
The BETA-2 score uses fasting metabolic variables and was derived and validated by Peter Senior, Shareen Forbes and colleagues from people transplanted in the Edmonton Islet Transplant Programme and has been published online in The American Journal of Transplantation.
